Her Story

Entering her senior year, Katherine's daughter had experienced the heartache and challenges that can come with friendships. Through Shine leadership and Shine Club, she found a space that encouraged her to heal, grow, and see herself differently.

Over the year, she became more confident in her strengths and learned how to use them to support and encourage others. She found her voice and began speaking with courage in situations where she may have stayed quiet before.

As she prepared to leave for college, her mom saw a young woman who was more confident, grounded, and ready to build meaningful relationships and make a difference.

Shine helped her discover not only who she was, but how she could use who she was to lift up others.
